The girlfriend experience
> Any man who has ever had a girlfriend can attest to this.
> This is just too good. Animation, adorableness, substance. I really hope there are more of these.
It’s too adorable not to reblog again.
It be like that sometimes.
this cheered me up considerably.

To the aspiring artists out there. Listen carefully…

the cutest little girl @___@ These photos are really great at capturing that capricious essence of early childhood.
AHHH LOOK AT THOSE FACES I can’t handle it
Seriously. One thing people usually ask me, upon learning that I’m half-Hispanic, is, “Wow, really? How come you don’t speak Spanish, then?”
I know they’re not trying to be hurtful or offensive, but please, please don’t ask people questions like this. You make them feel as if they need to provide some set of credentials along with their identity, as if it doesn’t really count unless they exhibit a certain expected set of traits and behaviors. Perhaps I’m wrong here, I don’t know. But it always leaves me feeling aggravated and mildly depressed.
And I don’t speak Spanish because I’m lousy with languages and didn’t grow up speaking it. I didn’t grow up speaking it because my mother doesn’t speak it. My mother doesn’t speak it because her parents never used it in the home, aside from private conversations between themselves. My grandparents did that because they lived a predominately White community and thought that making their children have perfect English (with no accents) would save them from being discriminated against.
That’s why.

(TRIGGER WARNING: murder, violence)
Having survived two assassination attempts, Mexican mayor found beaten to death
- Maria Santos Gorrostieta had been stabbed, beaten and burned
- She defied Mexico’s powerful drug gangs, who twice tried to gun her down previously
- She was kidnapped in broad daylight in front of her terrified daughter
- The former mayor leaves behind three children
This is an absolutely heart-wrenching and tragic story. If anybody ever dismisses wanting to end the nonsensical US drug war and the cause of drug legalization as something frivolous and self-serving to potheads, make sure you link them this article. 50000 Mexican people have died in cartel violence since 2006. How in the world do people anywhere in the world find this acceptable?
